A large, nationally significant organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to provide hands-on leadership across Financial Accounting and Controls during a critical period of finance transformation.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-profile role requiring a proven finance leader who can quickly establish control, strengthen financial operations and support the organisation through year-end reporting and external audit activity.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Lead Financial Accounting and Controls across the organisation.
* Oversee year-end reporting, statutory accounts and external audit engagement.
* Strengthen the financial control environment and governance framework.
* Support the optimisation of a recently implemented Oracle Fusion ERP system.
* Assess finance team capability, structure and ways of working.
* Partner with the CFO, Executive Team, Audit & Risk Committee and Board.
* Help define and implement a sustainable operating model for the future.
**Candidate Profile**
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Significant Finance Director or senior financial leadership experience.
* Strong technical accounting, controls and financial reporting expertise.
* Proven experience managing complex external audits.
* Experience operating within public sector, NDPB, ALB, regulated or similarly governed environments.
* Track record of improving or stabilising finance functions during periods of change.
* Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on delivery.
