**Role description** -------------------- As a Validation Engineer at Zeromatter, you'll ensure our simulation platform delivers the accuracy and reliability that autonomous systems demand. You'll develop rigorous testing methodologies for critical simulation features from vehicle dynamics to sensor characterization while working directly with customers to validate and certify their autonomous systems using our synthetic data. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape how the industry validates simulation-trained algorithms, combining deep technical validation expertise with customer collaboration to enable the safe deployment of next-generation robotics and autonomous vehicles. **Responsibilities** -------------------- * Define and implement testing methodologies for Zeromatter's simulation features including vehicle dynamics, sensor simulation, and actor models. * Create comprehensive test suites that validate simulation accuracy against real-world benchmarks and customer specifications. * Build automated validation pipelines that continuously verify simulation fidelity across different use cases and configurations. * Work with engineering teams to integrate validation checkpoints and quality gates throughout the development process. * Develop data visualization tools and dashboards to communicate validation results to both internal teams and customers. * Design validation frameworks for machine learning workflows using synthetic data from our platform. * Maintain deep technical knowledge of autonomous system certification requirements across automotive, aerospace, and robotics domains. * Support Zeromatter's certification efforts under safety standards by developing compliance documentation and test evidence. * Collaborate directly with customers to understand their synthetic data validation needs and certification requirements. * Write and automate technical documentation for customer deliverables, ensuring clear traceability from requirements to validation results. **Qualifications** ------------------ * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, math, robotics, etc.) or equivalent working experience. * Strong programming skills in Python or Rust with experience in test automation and validation frameworks. * Professional experience in developing robotics, aerospace, or automotive applications. * Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and understanding of ML validation techniques. * Proven technical writing skills with experience creating test documentation, validation reports, or technical specifications. * Self-directed work style with ability to manage multiple validation projects and customer engagements simultaneously. * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing infrastructure. * Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization using tools like Grafana,Matplotlib, Plotly, or similar. * Bonus: Knowledge of safety-critical certification standards (ISO 26262, DO-178C, or similar). * Bonus: Experience with simulation validation or synthetic data quality assessment. * Bonus: Background in statistical analysis and experimental design for validation studies.
