Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Telecom Network Engineer / Telecommunications Project Manager to oversee telecommunications network infrastructure, technical operations, and project implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring network reliability, optimizing system performance, managing project delivery, and coordinating technical teams to support the development and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure. This role requires strong technical knowledge, project management capabilities, and the ability to deliver projects efficiently while meeting quality, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, configure, and maintain telecommunications network infrastructure, including fiber optic networks, wireless systems, transmission equipment, and communication networks.
* Monitor network performance, identify technical issues, and carry out troubleshooting to ensure network stability, reliability, and service availability.
* Plan, coordinate, and manage telecommunications projects from initial planning and design through implementation, testing, and final delivery.
* Oversee project schedules, budgets, resources, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within allocated budgets.
* Conduct site inspections, technical assessments, and network testing to ensure infrastructure meets engineering specifications and industry standards.
* Coordinate with engineers, technicians, vendors, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
* Identify potential project risks, resolve technical challenges, and implement effective solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
* Prepare technical documentation, project progress reports, network performance reports, and maintenance records.
* Ensure compliance with telecommunications regulations, technical standards, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
* Evaluate new telecommunications technologies and recommend network improvements to enhance efficiency, coverage, and service quality.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Relevant working experience in telecommunications network engineering, network infrastructure, or telecommunications project management.
* Good understanding of fiber optic systems, IP networking, wireless communication, transmission systems, and network infrastructure.
* Familiarity with network configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and performance monitoring tools.
* Experience in project planning, budget management, resource allocation, and contractor coordination is an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of telecommunications standards, network deployment procedures, and technical documentation.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Willingness to travel to project sites and conduct field inspections when required.
