Posted October 20, 2026 Part Time Anywhere Remote Dead Mage, the Vancouver studio behind Children of Morta , is looking for an exceptional pixel art animator to bring our next game to life. This is a part-time, fully remote role. What you’ll do Animate playable characters: idle, movement, attacks, abilities, hit reactions, deaths Animate enemies and bosses with clear, readable telegraphs and distinct personalities Create pixel art animation for in-game cutscenes and story moments Work closely with the art director and designers so every animation feels good to play, not just to watch What we’re looking for A portfolio of outstanding pixel art animation. This is the main thing we’ll judge. A strong grasp of timing, weight, anticipation, and impact in a gameplay context Experience animating characters for action games The ability to carry a consistent style across a large cast Shipped game experience is a strong plus Why join us You’ll be a key part of a small, experienced team that cares deeply about craft, and your work will shape how the game feels in the player’s hands.
